I haven’t climbed Suilven. It’s on the list. I’ve caught glimpses of it from the roadside but the first time I really appreciated it’s unmistakable silhouette was from the summit of Stac Pollaidh in the Assynt region of north west Scotland. It lies isolated from any roads with a long approach and an epic ridge walk to the summit. I wanted to capture Suilven’s silhouette as the focal point as it sits among the very heart of Assynt’s cnoc-and-loch landscape. I tried to convey the sense that Suilven is alone and remote.
